30 minutes.

Isla Canela is located in a tranquil and unspoiled area of the
Costa de la Luz on the western part of the Andalucia coastline. It is
close to the border of Portugal in an area also known as the Spanish
Algarve and shares the charms of both Spain and Portugal . It is a
fantastic region for enjoying sun, beach, sailing, golf, cycling,
culture, nature reserves and bird sanctuaries.
Isla Canela enjoys over 300 days of sunshine with average daily
temperatures of 20-25 degrees throughout the year. It is situated in
Andalusia in southern Spain, in the province of Huelva and stands on the
mouth of the River Guadiana on the Portuguese boarder. It shares the
charm of both areas and all their advantages. Isla canela has 7 Km of
fine sandy beach set in a cared for natural environment with an
exceptional climate.
Ayamonte stands high above the river Guadiana and appears to be
gazing towards Portugal. It is an important fishing port. During the
summer months the ferry, which connects it to neighbouring Portugal,
sees a continual coming and going of visitors, and the town becomes
especially lively.
In Ayamonte, there are neatly whitewashed houses, pleasant squares and
baroque churches. There is also a beautiful promenade along the harbour
which is lined with palm trees. The Church of Nuestra Señora de
las Angustias dates from the last few years of the 15th century. The
Tower of San Francisco rises above the reddish tiled roofs. San
Francisco is the splendid setting for the Festival of Classical Music.

Andalucia is a birdwatcher's paradise
and attract ornithologists throughout the year. The best time of year,
however is during the spring as this is when you can see many wintering
species, together with those arriving for the summer months.
