Canyelles Petites nestles within
the Bay of Roses - in the heart of Catalan Spain. The sheltered
position, great micro-climate and a backdrop of the Pyrenees make it an
ideal holiday destination. The properties dotted around the hillside are
mostly privately owned second homes and it's proximity to the French
border has led to a variety of nationalities - mainly from France,
Holland, Italy, Belgium, the UK, and Germany joining Spanish - to buy
properties here. This has produced a wonderfully warm and international
atmosphere in the few small bars and restaurants here. The surrounding
horseshoe-shaped hillside protects it from strong winds.
Canyelles Petites is proud of it's fine sandy Blue Flag beach which
gently slopes into the clearest of water.
Canyelles Petites is ideal as a base for exploring Roses, Cadaques, The
Parc Natural de Cap Creus, Aiguamolls Natural Park, the Pyrenees,
Catalonia and the entire northern Costa Brava . For Salvador Dali fans,
there's the famous Dali museum in Figueres and his fascinating home in
nearby Port Lligat, whilst if you have managed to secure a table at El
Bulli ("The Best Restaurant in the World")

it's very close by!
Forget any preconceptions you may
have about the Costa Brava, originally called Costa Coral due to the
rare varieties of corals found in it's waters, attracts divers
worldwide. In the 1950's, the area led the way in tourist development
and it was the first to attract UK holiday makers. In this part of the
Costa Brava fish & chips shops are non-existent as are noisy English
bars. Seafood is freshly caught in the Bay of Roses and cooked in
traditional Catalan ways. Best bitter has given way to fine Rioja and
Cava.
The area now has a more exclusive reputation and today wealthy Spanish
have their second homes here, attracted by the Catalan culture and
people, it's temperate climate, beautiful scenery, the pace of life,
water sports and it's close proximity to the ski slopes. At night, the
bars are pleasant meeting venues for socialising and easy conversation
between countless nationalities
All the Holiday Rental properties are privately owned and most are the
owners' second homes. As such, they are comfortably furnished and well
equipped and decorated. They are also rented at far lower rates than
commercial developments.
