Straddling the
Ribera de Molinars river in the north east corner of Catalonia,
Colera is situated 250 metres from the Mediterranean. It is less
than four miles from the French border.
For a small village
(population c650), it has excellent transport connections: the
railway heads south to Figueres
& Girona
and north into Perpignan
via Portbou.
Due to it's size and location, Colera never gets crowded. Even in
peak season there is plenty of space on the village's two pebbly
beaches, Playa den Goixa and Playa de Garbet.
There are several further beaches within waking distance or a short
drive. Probably the most notable of these is Punta dEs Borro
which is popular with nudists.

There are only two small hotels in Colera:
Hotel
Restaurant La Gambina: Overlooking Colera Bay, The

cuisine and features a terrace overlooking the bay.

Hostal
Totsompops: 300 metres from Garbet Beach, this is a
modern guest house with simple, stylish rooms. Free WiFi &
plasma-screen TV. The restaurant specializes in slow-cooked food
