Vilassar de Mar is situated on the Maresme coast in Catalonia, 18 miles (29km) north east of Barcelona (There is a frequent train service to the city with four six departures per hour).Accommodation: The modern 4-star Hotel Vilassar is the only hotel in the town, located 500 metres from the sea. It has 25 comfortable rooms and has recently added nine 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, each with exterior space.
Vilassar de Mar is a horticultural town, specialising in carnations (the Carnation Market is a must-see!). It also a dormitory town for Barcelona. Platja de l'Astillero, the town's beach, is long, wide, sandy and clean. The seawater quality is excellent. The town is miles 28 miles (45km) from Barcelona's El Prat airport and 46½ miles (75km) from Girona airport. Check Skyscanner for flights to both airports from every UK airport.
