The total area of Palau Saverdera in the Alt Empordà, including outlaying farms etc is just 16.5km2 It has a resident population of under 1,000 people, yet boasts three exceptional restaurants: Casa Carmeta in Calle de la Mina (french & German cuisine), Rhodas (a charming converted monastery - the lamb is superb!) and Terra Nostra, which is currently being converted into a small hotel, but hopefully the restaurant will be retained. Both Rhodas and Terra Nostra have an Internation Cuisine.There are several large supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. The 'El Bulli', recently voted as the World's Top Restaurant, is just 15 minutes away.The village has it's own flag, formally described as ''triangle: top hoist (green),triangle: bottom fly (yellow)''.

For a village of it's size. Palau Saverdera has excellent sporting facilities, including outdoor swimming pool, civic centre, tennis courts, volleyball pitch, boules piste, and football pitch.

· Festa Major de la Candelera: 2nd February
· Aplec de Sant Onofre: early/mid May
· Festa Major d'Estiu: 28th & 29th August
