Pals, Spain, comprises of three distinct parts:  The medieval walled town of Pals, 5km inland,was built around the 12th century around the Romanesque tower of the Torre de les Hores (meaning Tower of the Hours). The town's Gothic Quarter, which has been substantially restored features cobbled streets, arched windows and stone balconies. The old town is walled with square towers in each corner. Masos de Pals was originally a group of farmhouses situated midway between Pals town and the beach. It has developed into an urban centre comprising villas, apartments and a range of shops, restaurants & bars.  Platja de Pals(Pals beach) is a stretch of fine sand over three kilometers long and c35 metres wide. Unusually for the Costa Brava the beach receives good waves and it is a magnet for windsurfers. This is a quiet location with low-rise apartments and villas along the seafront and around the golf course. The 6,000 yard par 73 Golf Platja de Pals was completed in 1966 and is close to Platja de Pals beach. The course is set amongst pine trees. It is considered to be one of the finest in Spain and it has been the venue of numerous international competitions. Pals is mainly inhabited by families and Groups of teenagers.
