Santa
Margarita is a district of Roses and lies to the west of the town. It
features a long promenade beside the beach and most first and second
line properties have road-free access to the beach and Med. Check with
the hotel or rental owner if this is a particular concern.
The Rio Grau river feeds into the 2km canal network and the
harbour, making Santa Margarita an important leisure harbour in the
Mediterranean. Most of the hotels are based here, while most are the
Holiday Apartments are set in the Salatar area, on the eastern side
on the area, closest to Roses.
Although Santa Margarita has some restaurants and bars, most
visitors favour a stroll along the promenade to Roses town with its
wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops. The entire area is on
the level so walking is not a problem.
In addition to it's Hotels & Apartments, there are several
Campsites which are generally sited a few hundred metres inland.
Santa Margarita does not it's own Tourist Information Office, but
visit the Roses
Tourist Board at Roses council, who handle the district.
